The Indian Premier League (IPL) is newly born child of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). It is started on September 14, 2007 based on English Premier League (EPL) and the National Basketball League (NBA) (not Stanford League). The idea was floated in 1996. But the board felt it would not good for India. The project moved into top media monopoly in India, Zee group launched a rival cricket league, Indian Cricket League (ICL).

Then board opens the eyes to the market system. The league will open on April 18 and will play 59 matches on 44 days. The overall prize money will be US $ 5 million, winners taking home $2 million. The International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup 2007 winners took home $1 million. Television rights have gone for over $1 billion. Franchises have committed close to $723 million. Top players are expected to earn minimum 1-2.5 crore Indian Rupees (INR) per season.

Sony Entertainment and the Asia based World Sports Group (WSG) won the broadcast rights for ten years. The television rights are worth $918 million.

One lost won

Team India is a good team in cricket world. In their batting order, bowling style and all aspects of cricket, India is number one in the world class cricket.

In the few months before, India changed their name in the world. Sachin led the batting style and to keep the style by Ganguly, Dravid and Laxman. They are spirit of Team India. In the last two series, India played well against Pakistan and Australia.

Now three world number one batsmen are out from the ground. They are Ganguly, Dravid and Laxman. In the test series against Australia, they were taking all responsibility of the batting order. And in the 4 test, India won 1 test and to keep a draw. It is a dangerous victory for India and extremely happy innings for the world.

After the test, Team India have move to their only Twenty20 with Australia. Senior player Sachin was not to fit for playing the game! The juniors plan to get victory against Australia, the number one in test and ODI. But the world champions of the Twenty20 were got the worst total 74 all out in 17.3. Australia won the match in 11.2 overs with 9 wickets. Team India to study a good theory in the game plan!
